The World War II Victory Miniature Medal was awarded to personnel who served in the  US Armed Forces between 1941 and 1946. If a veteran served at least 1 day prior to 31 December 1946, they are eligible for this award. 
It is the second most widely awarded medal (behind the National Defense Service Medal) of the United States Armed Forces, as it was given to all service members who served during World War II with no minimum service time requirements.
