Those members entering the Balkan theater on or after January 1, 2003 are eligible for the Non-Article 5 NATO ribbon. The service must be 30 days, either continuous or accumulated.

The Non Article 5 NATO Ribbon is worn below the United Nations Ribbon and above the Multi National Force & Oberservers Ribbon.
Any servicemember awarded subsequent NATO ribbons (NATO, NATO-Kosovo, Article 5, ISAF), ispermitted to wear only the first NATO award they received, and the appropriate number of bronze stars attached.
